Key takeaway: With a Rug Space custom rug you choose the colour, pattern, size and shape freely. The one thing to pick is the texture, and there are 5. For busy areas choose Classic Loop or Pineapple Loop. For soft luxury choose Cut or High Cut Low Loop. For a relaxed living room choose Cut Frieze. Every type uses 100% Nylon fibre printed with the Digital Dyed system.

Cut pile vs loop pile

Loop pile is made of continuous loops of yarn, so the surface keeps its shape and does not flatten even with daily use. It suits areas with lots of foot traffic. Cut pile feels softer and looks more luxurious, but shows more shading where the pile leans with foot traffic, which is a natural feature of cut pile.

Choose by space

  • Homes and condos: Cut or Cut Frieze for living rooms and bedrooms.
  • Hotels and guest rooms: Cut or High Cut Low Loop for a premium feel.
  • Offices, corridors, lobbies: Classic Loop or Pineapple Loop for heavy use.

Good to know before you order

  • Digital Dyed rugs print patterns and logos in sharp detail, but cannot be made with high-low or carved pile.
  • Colours are chosen from our Color Swatch, not matched to Pantone, because the final colour depends on the fibre, pile direction and light. For large jobs we recommend making a real sample first.
  • An anti-bacterial finish can be added as an option.

Frequently asked questions

Which rug suits high-traffic areas?

Which rug is the softest?

Cut 1200 g feels the softest and densest, followed by Cut 800 g and High Cut Low Loop.
