How to Keep Your Rug Looking Beautiful: A Care Guide for Custom Digital Dyed Rugs
Rug Space · 20 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Key takeaway: Rug Space rugs are made from Nylon fibre, which is durable and easy to clean. Five habits keep them looking good: vacuum regularly, blot stains right away, avoid direct sunlight, air the room after installation, and ask about our optional cleaning service for heavy stains.
1. Vacuum regularly
Dust and grit trapped in the pile wear the fibres faster and make colours look dull. Vacuum at least 1–2 times a week, and more often in busy spots such as entrances, hallways and in front of the sofa.
- Vacuum with the direction of the pile first, then against it to lift deeper dust.
- Cut pile rugs such as Cut and Cut Frieze may show shading where the pile leans with foot traffic. This is a natural feature of cut pile, not damage.
2. Blot stains right away, never rub
No rug is 100% stain-proof or waterproof. A stain-resistant finish slows liquids down and makes cleaning easier, but if a spill is left too long or is large, it can soak through to the backing and the floor below.
- Blot up as much liquid as you can with a dry cloth or paper towel, pressing gently from the edge of the stain towards the centre.
- Do not rub or scrub, as this pushes the stain deeper and distorts the pile.
- The sooner you act, the easier the stain comes out. If it remains, contact our team for advice before using any cleaning product.
3. Avoid long periods of direct sunlight
Digital Dyed rugs are made for indoor use. Constant direct sunlight can fade the colours. Use curtains or window film, or place the rug where the sun does not hit it all day.
4. Air the room after installation
For glued wall-to-wall installations, even Low VOC adhesive may leave a smell at first. Ventilate for 48–72 hours before using the space, and allow at least 72 hours for schools or areas used by children.
5. Leave heavy stains and deep cleaning to experts
Rug Space offers an optional Cleaning Service, quoted separately and not included in the rug price, and we provide a care guide for every customer. If a rug is damaged in one spot, our team can assess a repair. The colour may differ slightly from the original because it comes from a different production lot.
Choose an easy-care texture from the start
- Classic Loop / Pineapple Loop: looped pile that keeps its shape and does not flatten, ideal for busy areas.
- Cut / High Cut Low Loop: soft and luxurious, for medium to heavy use.
- Cut Frieze: a relaxed look for living rooms and lighter use.
